B&H WORLDWIDE DEPLOYS AI-DRIVEN TYRE SCANNING TO IMPROVE LOGISTICS EFFICIENCY

B&H Worldwide has deployed AI-powered tyre scanning technology in New Zealand, reducing inventory processing time by 60% and improving accuracy in aerospace logistics operations.

Auckland, 20 April 2026 – B&H Worldwide has implemented an AI-powered tyre scanning system at its New Zealand operations, reporting a 60% reduction in inventory processing times as part of its ongoing digital transformation strategy.

The solution has been integrated into the company’s proprietary FirstTRAC platform and replaces manual data entry processes with automated mobile-based scanning technology.

AUTOMATING DATA CAPTURE IN AEROSPACE LOGISTICS

The system uses computer vision and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to capture tyre data directly from sidewalls, allowing staff to utilise smartphones and tablets as scanning devices. This enables the reading of both standard barcodes and complex serial numbers without manual input.

According to B&H Worldwide, the implementation has resulted in measurable improvements in operational performance. Inventory handling time has reduced from approximately four minutes per unit to one minute, while data accuracy has exceeded 99%, with error rates reduced by up to 90%.

REAL-TIME INTEGRATION WITH FIRSTTRAC

The scanning capability is fully embedded within the FirstTRAC warehouse management system through a dual integration approach, combining mobile and web-based software development kits. This ensures real-time updates across stock checks, dispatch operations, and inventory uploads.

The system provides improved visibility for customers managing high-value and safety-critical assets, while also creating a digital audit trail to support regulatory compliance.

GLOBAL ROLLOUT PLANNED

The New Zealand deployment serves as a pilot for wider implementation across B&H Worldwide’s global network, with Melbourne identified as the next location for rollout.

The company stated that the initiative forms part of a broader strategy to standardise processes, reduce reliance on paper-based systems, and improve operational efficiency across its international logistics operations.
