EHANG, JAC MOTORS, AND GUOXIAN HOLDINGS TO ESTABLISH EVTOL MANUFACTURING HUB IN HEFEI

Guangzhou, China – February 25, 2025 – EHang Holdings Limited (Nasdaq: EH), a global leader in Urban Air Mobility (UAM), has signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (JAC Motors) and Hefei Guoxian Holdings Co., Ltd. (Guoxian Holdings). The partnership aims to establish a joint venture in Hefei for the construction of an advanced eVTOL manufacturing base.

The new facility will integrate cutting-edge automation and standardisation processes to produce intelligent, pilotless electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. This marks a significant milestone in the evolution of China’s low-altitude economy and supports the broader vision of a multi-dimensional transportation ecosystem.

Strategic Collaboration for Growth

The agreement was signed in the presence of key officials, including Fei Yuan, Vice Mayor of Hefei, alongside senior executives from JAC Motors and EHang. The collaboration is set to enhance research and development, manufacturing, and sales of eVTOL aircraft, with a focus on accelerating technological advancements and industrial growth.

By leveraging Hefei’s new energy vehicle industrial chain and JAC Motors’ automotive manufacturing expertise, the partnership will drive the standardisation of aircraft components and establish unified industry benchmarks. Guoxian Holdings will play a crucial role in facilitating policy support and fostering an environment conducive to innovation in the low-altitude aviation sector.

Scaling Up eVTOL Production

JAC Motors, ranked among China’s top 100 industrial enterprises, will contribute its vast experience in high-volume automotive production, optimising supply chain efficiencies and automation processes for eVTOL manufacturing. Meanwhile, EHang will provide its expertise in eVTOL research and development, airworthiness certification, and operational support.

This partnership builds on Hefei’s existing commitment to urban air mobility. In 2023, the Hefei municipal government collaborated with EHang to establish two UAM eVTOL operation centers. Now, with the launch of this manufacturing facility, the region is set to become a key hub for large-scale eVTOL production, paving the way for future commercial deployment.

Industry Leaders Welcome the Initiative

At the signing ceremony, Fei Yuan reaffirmed Hefei’s dedication to becoming a national leader in the low-altitude economy. “Hefei will support the partnership in advancing eVTOL technology, supply chain development, and industry standards,” he stated.

Xingchu Xiang, Chairman of JAC Motors, highlighted the transformative potential of the collaboration: “By combining Hefei’s industrial strength with our collective expertise, we anticipate the mass production of eVTOLs in Hefei, driving the growth of emerging industries.”

Huazhi Hu, Founder and CEO of EHang, echoed this sentiment, emphasising the role of the partnership in shaping the future of urban air mobility. “Our joint efforts will lay the foundation for intelligent, automated, and environmentally sustainable low-altitude transportation solutions,” he said.

As China moves toward a new era of three-dimensional mobility, the establishment of this eVTOL manufacturing base in Hefei is set to be a landmark achievement, bringing the vision of widespread autonomous air travel closer to reality.
