At the 2025 PAX Readership Awards, Ethiopian Airlines was crowned ‘Outstanding Food Service by a Carrier – Africa’ for the third time, a recognition of its continued excellence in onboard catering. In a parallel celebration at the Onboard Hospitality Awards, the airline was named Bronze Winner of the ‘Cabin Concept of the Year 2025’, a nod to its innovative new Airbus A350-1000 interior.

Ethiopian Airlines’ food service excellence is supported by its state-of-the-art catering facility in Addis Ababa, capable of producing up to 100,000 meals per day. The centre not only serves Ethiopian’s own flights but also provides catering and onboard duty-free items for customer airlines, charter services, and VVIP operations. The facility includes international kitchens staffed by global chefs and a dedicated Halal Kitchen, complete with Halal Certification.

The airline’s Airbus A350-1000 cabin design is a blend of elegance, comfort, and advanced technology. Key features include a spacious cabin layout, larger panoramic windows, mood lighting, and a significantly quieter environment. Each seat offers a 4K AVANT Up inflight entertainment system with Bluetooth pairing, real-time landscape camera feeds, and 70W fast-charging ports. Eco-conscious amenity kits, complete with sustainable bamboo brushes and natural sleep aids, further highlight the airline’s sustainability focus.
