DOHA—Qatar Airways and Philippine Airlines (PAL) have inked a strategic partnership that will place both carriers’ codes on a new daily non‑stop service between Manila and Doha, effective 16 June 2025.
The Flight Plan
PAL will operate the rotation with a two‑class Airbus A330‑300—18 lie‑flat seats up front and 341 in Economy.
Sector | Flight | Dep | Arr |
Manila–Doha | PR 684 | 18:50 | 23:40 |
Doha–Manila | PR 685 | 01:30 | 16:15 |
Why It Matters
- Seamless connectivity: Passengers from Manila gain one‑stop access via Hamad International (Skytrax “Best Airport in the Middle East 2025”) to more than 170 destinations across the Qatar Airways network—spanning Africa, the Americas, Central Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
- Eastbound feed: Travellers arriving on Qatar Airways flights can connect to the PAL service for a convenient mid‑afternoon touchdown in Manila.
- Community ties: The move bolsters travel options for the Philippines’ large overseas workforce in Qatar and deepens trade and tourism links between the two nations.
Executive View
Qatar Airways CCO Thierry Antinori called the codeshare “a testament” to the carrier’s drive for wider global reach and stronger socio‑economic ties.
PAL President Captain Stanley K. Ng said the daily frequency would “stimulate tourism, trade flows and business growth,” noting that overseas Filipino workers “will greatly benefit.”
What’s Next
Both airlines will explore expanded cooperation—potentially adding more shared destinations and integrating frequent‑flyer benefits.
