São Paulo, Brazil – June 3, 2025 – In a milestone for Brazil’s aerospace innovation landscape, Eve Air Mobility (NYSE: EVEX; EVEXW) has announced its selection by Brazil’s Funding Authority for Studies and Projects (FINEP) to receive a non-repayable grant of up to $15.8 million (BRL 90 million). This forms part of a broader $33.8 million investment initiative designed to accelerate Eve’s development of advanced technologies in support of sustainable urban air mobility.
The award is the first grant of its kind for Eve and underscores the company’s leadership in shaping the future of advanced air mobility (AAM) through cutting-edge innovation and a firm commitment to environmental stewardship. The funding aligns with FINEP’s strategic programme, “Technologies for More Sustainable Aviation”, which targets critical sectors including hybrid-electric and hydrogen propulsion, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) testing, noise reduction, advanced air traffic management, and digital ecosystem development.
“This partnership with FINEP marks a pivotal milestone for Eve and the broader Brazilian aerospace ecosystem,” said Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve Air Mobility. “Leveraging Embraer’s 55-year legacy and our innovative mindset, this grant will enable us to accelerate the development of digital solutions and technologies that will shape the future of urban air mobility in Brazil and beyond.”
At the heart of Eve’s project is the expansion of its digital ecosystem, especially the development of Eve TechCare — the company’s integrated aftermarket services platform. TechCare offers a full suite of services to support eVTOL operations, from technical support and MRO services to training, flight ops, and battery management. This backbone will enable scalable, safe, and reliable eVTOL deployment in urban settings.
“Supporting the future operation of eVTOLs requires a robust digital backbone,” added Luiz Mauad, Eve’s Vice President of Customer Services. “By developing our digital platforms in parallel with the aircraft, we empower our customers with an integrated, one-stop-shop experience from day one.”
Eve is currently engaged in a critical phase of eVTOL development, with ongoing prototype testing designed to validate operational safety and performance. The grant will help fast-track this phase while bolstering development of autonomous systems, new materials, and efficient aircraft configurations — all in line with Eve’s innovation roadmap.
Elias Ramos de Souza, President of FINEP, reinforced the agency’s vision:
“This project represents our belief that eVTOLs are a future disruptive trend in the UAM scenario. We are very glad to partner with Eve in this endeavour, in a funding that enhances our position of more than BRL 1 billion in support to Embraer and its investees.”
With a start-up agility backed by Embraer’s aerospace pedigree, Eve continues to position itself as a key player in the global drive toward decarbonised aviation and intelligent airspace systems. The FINEP grant not only propels Eve’s ambitions forward but reaffirms Brazil’s commitment to fostering world-leading aerospace innovation.
