101ST AIRBORNE UNVEILS MV-75: A NEW ERA FOR ARMY AVIATION

FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. — The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) has launched a bold new chapter in Army aviation with the official unveiling of the MV-75 — a 1/8th scale model of the U.S. Army’s Future Long Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA). The ceremony, held on 6 June 2025 in the atrium of the division headquarters at Fort Campbell, marked a significant milestone in the evolution of vertical lift capability.

Unveiled on the anniversary of D-Day — a date deeply tied to the Screaming Eagles’ legacy — the MV-75 model pays homage to the division’s historic airborne roots while symbolising a leap into its future. The event was attended by senior leaders, soldiers, and aviation experts, all gathered to witness what many are calling the future of vertical envelopment.

“The MV-75 represents a bold leap toward the future of vertical envelopment,” said Brig. Gen. Travis McIntosh, deputy commanding general for support, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). “For the 101st Air Assault Division — born of legacy, fueled by innovation — this aircraft is not just a machine. It’s a promise: that when America needs Screaming Eagles, we will be ready to strike anywhere in the world with twice the range and twice the speed of what we have today.”

The Future of Army Aviation

The MV-75 is the Army’s next-generation multi-role vertical lift aircraft. Designed to outperform legacy platforms like the UH-60 Black Hawk, the MV-75 will deliver twice the range and speed while incorporating advanced technology to boost manoeuvrability, survivability, and mission adaptability.

For a division known for its rapid deployment and decisive action, the MV-75 is more than a new tool — it’s a transformational asset.

“This model represents our fourth evolution of vertical envelopment,” McIntosh said. “The fourth evolution will be faster, farther and fiercer than ever before. This aircraft will not just be the next chapter — it will redefine how we fight as a division.”

Legacy Meets Innovation

With over 80 years of operational excellence, the 101st Airborne Division has long been the tip of the spear in U.S. military operations. The introduction of the MV-75 ensures that its unique air assault capabilities will continue to evolve, maintaining its dominance in rapidly changing operational environments.

As the U.S. Army moves forward with its FLRAA programme, the MV-75 stands as both a tribute to the past and a vision of the future — a future where Screaming Eagles remain ready to deploy, fight, and win on any battlefield.
