Paris, 18 June 2025 — Avolon, a leading global aviation finance company, has signed an agreement to lease 10 Airbus A321neo aircraft to AJet Hava Taşımacılığı, the low-cost carrier subsidiary of Turkish Airlines. The deal was announced during a signing ceremony at the Paris Air Show and marks a significant step in AJet’s fleet renewal and expansion strategy.
AJet, a dynamic player in the low-cost aviation market, currently operates a fleet of 92 aircraft and serves over 100 destinations across Türkiye, the Middle East, Europe, North Africa, and the CIS. The newly leased A321neos are scheduled for delivery in 2027 and will enhance AJet’s operational efficiency and sustainability profile.
Â
Avolon continues to strengthen its position as a preferred lessor, with 140 A320neo family aircraft already delivered and an additional 294 in its orderbook. The Airbus A321neo delivers 20% lower fuel burn and CO₂ emissions, alongside a 50% reduction in noise levels, compared to its predecessor — making it a strategic choice for environmentally conscious fleet modernisation.
Â
Commenting on the agreement, Avolon CEO Andy Cronin said:
“We are delighted to further strengthen our partnership with Turkish Airlines and support AJet’s continued growth. Our large A320neo family orderbook is in high demand from airlines who are looking to expand their route networks and renew their fleet with new technology aircraft. This positions us as a preferred partner for airlines and, coupled with our scale and balance sheet strength, will drive sustained growth for the business well into the next decade.”
Â
Prof. Ahmet Bolat, Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee, welcomed the development:
“We are pleased to expand our partnership with Avolon through this latest agreement. The addition of these next-generation A321neo aircraft will support AJet’s growth strategy while contributing to our sustainability goals with improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions. We look forward to continuing our cooperation as we expand AJet’s network and enhance its fleet.”
Â
The lease agreement underscores both companies’ commitment to advancing sustainable aviation and meeting growing passenger demand through next-generation technology and strategic partnerships.
