Capua, Italy – July 22, 2025 – In a strategic move that underlines its commitment to advancing regional aviation, Tecnam has confirmed the sale of two brand-new P2012 Traveller aircraft to Jags Aviation Inc., a fast-growing aviation operator in Guyana and part of the BK Group of Companies.
Each P2012 is powered by twin 375 hp Continental GTSIO-520-S engines and is slated for delivery in early August 2025. One of the aircraft is already turning heads at the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, a prestigious platform that showcases the best in aviation innovation—reinforcing Tecnam’s role in redefining regional transport solutions.
These multi-mission aircraft have been configured for dual roles: transport and medevac. The transport layout supports standard passenger services, while the medevac setup is equipped for day and night medical operations. The aircraft will be deployed in Guyana’s highland regions, where operational conditions are both hot and humid, testing the aircraft’s strength, versatility, and durability in some of the most demanding tropical environments.
Francesco Sferra, Tecnam P2012 Special Mission Platforms Sales & Business Development Manager and Experimental Test Pilot, highlighted the significance of the collaboration:
“We are excited to partner with Jags Aviation Inc. in their mission to transform regional air connectivity in Guyana. The P2012 Traveller is perfectly suited to meet the diverse and demanding operational needs of Guyana. With its advanced safety features, operational flexibility, and low operating costs, it offers an unparalleled solution for operators looking to deliver both passenger and cargo services across the country.”
Executive Chairman of Jags Aviation Inc., Brian Tiwarie, echoed the sentiment, noting that the addition of the Tecnam aircraft represents a strategic shift for the region:
“Tecnam is bringing modern concepts and enhanced safety aspects to the aviation world, and particularly to Guyana, which has long operated in a very limited capacity and ‘Jurassic’ era. The addition of these Tecnam aircraft will greatly bolster the dynamic and modern fleet here at Jags Aviation Inc., allowing us to significantly enhance Guyana’s tourism sector and provide reliable air connectivity. We are considering acquiring two additional aircraft in 2026 to support our growing operations.”
Beyond fleet expansion, Jags Aviation is building long-term capacity through the establishment of its own Approved Training Organisation (ATO) and Flight Training Organisation (FTO), aimed at cultivating local aviation expertise and strengthening Guyana’s aviation infrastructure.
Under the leadership of Brian Tiwarie—who also heads BK International Inc., Guyana’s largest privately-owned construction firm—the BK Group is now leveraging its established presence in transport and infrastructure to reshape regional aviation.
“With the largest pool of construction and transportation assets in Guyana, the BK Group of Companies is now taking to the skies,” said Tiwarie.
