EMBRAER TO OFFER STARLINK CONNECTIVITY AS AFTERMARKET SOLUTION FOR PRAETOR JETS

Melbourne, Florida, 6 August 2025 – Embraer has announced a significant step forward in business jet connectivity by offering Starlink high-speed internet as an aftermarket solution for Praetor 600, Praetor 500, Legacy 500, and Legacy 450 aircraft. The new option is being delivered through a partnership with Nextant Aerospace, the engineering arm of Flexjet.

This offering is enabled via a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC), with FAA certification already granted for the Praetor 500 and Legacy 450. Certification for the Praetor 600 and Legacy 500 is expected in Q3 2025, followed by ANAC and EASA certifications in Q4 2025 and Q1 2026, respectively.

Unmatched Global Connectivity in the Sky

Starlink, developed by SpaceX, delivers broadband connectivity via its low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation. With latency below 99 milliseconds and global coverage, it supports data-heavy applications such as 4K video conferencing, online gaming, and VPN access — even over oceans or remote terrain.

We’re excited to bring Starlink’s cutting-edge, high-speed internet to our customers,” said Marsha Woelber, Vice President, Customer Support & Aftermarket Sales for Embraer Executive Jets. “This builds on our ongoing efforts, strengthening our commitment to seamless, connected flight experiences around the world.

Flexjet, the largest operator of Praetor jets globally, plans to equip its entire fleet with Starlink connectivity. Jay Heublein, President of Flexjet’s Technical Services division, praised the move:

With more than a year of operational experience and hundreds of kits sold to the business aviation fleet, Starlink has firmly established itself as the preeminent solution for in-flight connectivity.

Expansion to Phenom 300 Coming Soon

The collaboration is also working on a Starlink STC for Embraer’s Phenom 300, with availability expected in Q4 2025. The Embraer Owned Service Center Network, with nine locations globally, is ready to support installations, and customers are encouraged to contact their Embraer Aftermarket Sales Representatives to schedule upgrades.

About the Praetor Jet Family

The Praetor 500 is the farthest- and fastest-flying midsize jet, capable of nonstop flights like Miami to Seattle. The Praetor 600 is the farthest-flying super-midsize jet, with intercontinental range allowing nonstop missions such as London to New York or São Paulo to Miami.

Both aircraft boast Embraer’s DNA Design cabin, which includes flat floors, stone-finished galleys, low cabin altitude, and whisper-quiet interiors — all contributing to a superior passenger experience.

Pioneering the Connected Cabin

The integration of Starlink’s technology is a natural fit for the tech-forward Praetor jets. Combined with Embraer’s cabin innovation — such as the Upper Tech Panel for flight information and cabin management — the connectivity upgrade reaffirms Embraer’s leadership in passenger experience and operational efficiency.
