BBN AIRLINES INDONESIA GAINS EASA TCO AUTHORISATION FOR EU OPERATIONS

BBN Airlines Indonesia, a subsidiary of Avia Solutions Group, has secured the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Third-Country Operator (TCO) authorisation, effective 5 September 2025. The approval allows the wet lease provider to operate in the European Union and extend its ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance) services to airlines flying into the EU.

All non-European operators intending to operate in the EU must hold a TCO permit, which certifies compliance with EASA safety and operational standards. Once approved, operators may obtain commercial air operations permits across all EASA member states without applying for separate authorisations in each country.

“Securing the EASA TCO marks an important milestone for BBN Airlines Indonesia,” said Martynas Grigas, Chairman of BBN Airlines Indonesia. “It reflects not only our unwavering commitment to global safety and compliance standards but also our readiness to support airlines with scalable ACMI solutions as they expand into and within the EU market.”

The airline currently operates six Boeing 737 aircraft, with two more scheduled to join its fleet by October 2025. Earlier this year, BBN Airlines Indonesia also achieved IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification, further underscoring its commitment to safety and operational excellence.

The EASA TCO authorisation plays a central role in the airline’s growth strategy, enhancing its ability to deliver reliable ACMI capacity solutions for partner airlines in Indonesia, the wider Asia-Pacific region, and now the EU. The approval also enables the carrier to deploy its aircraft to Europe during the busy summer travel season, aligning with counter-cyclical demand patterns, while maintaining strong operations in its home markets
