AVIVE CONNECT AED CLEARED FOR USE ON AIRCRAFT

Avive Solutions has announced that its Avive Connect AED®, the smallest and lightest automated external defibrillator (AED) on the market, has been cleared for use on aircraft. The approval follows rigorous testing and evaluation, confirming the device’s safety and effectiveness in aviation environments and setting a new standard for emergency preparedness at 30,000 feet.

The Avive Connect AED weighs just 2.1 lbs and is the first device of its kind to integrate with REALConnect®, Avive’s remote monitoring and data management platform. This system allows operators to track the health, status and location of AED fleets from a single dashboard, while also enabling instant access to post-use data such as ECG recordings, timestamps, and shock analysis. Unique features such as QR code data retrieval and rapid incident reporting allow critical information to be shared immediately with first responders and healthcare providers.

For in-flight emergencies, incident data can be uploaded over Wi-Fi, providing ground operations with real-time visibility and helping inform decisions based on accurate data rather than anecdotal reports. Automated self-checks and instant alerts further reduce the need for manual inspections, while a built-in Airplane Mode ensures connectivity for health updates and post-incident data retrieval. On the ground, cellular and GPS connectivity extend the system’s reach, offering unmatched reliability for organisations managing AEDs across mobile or remote environments.

Designed with travel in mind, the Avive Connect AED is compact yet durable, making it suitable not only for commercial and private aircraft but also for airports, airline lounges, ground operations, corporate facilities, and even buses, trains and mobile clinics. Key features include dual-function electrode pads for adults and children, bilingual prompts in English and Spanish, a colour touchscreen interface, GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity, cloud-based post-event data capture, and the industry’s only fully rechargeable battery.

“This marks a major step forward in ensuring life-saving technology is available anywhere emergencies happen, even in the skies,” said Rory Beyer, President and COO of Avive Solutions. “We look forward to bringing the Avive AED to the aviation industry and reinforcing our mission to make AEDs smarter, more accessible and easier to manage—wherever people live, work, or travel.”

With this approval, airlines, charter operators and aviation stakeholders can integrate the Avive Connect AED into onboard medical kits with confidence, knowing they are equipped to respond effectively to sudden cardiac arrest—one of the leading causes of death worldwide.
