NBAA LAUNCHES DATA-DRIVEN PLATFORM TO STRENGTHEN BUSINESS AVIATION SAFETY

LAS VEGAS, NV — October, 2025: The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has unveiled a new web-based resource aimed at advancing long-term industry-wide accident reduction. The platform synthesises key data to support study, benchmarking and decision-making across the business aviation sector.

The NBAA Business Aviation Accident and Incident Analysis resource, available exclusively to NBAA members, was introduced during the second day of the association’s annual Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) — the world’s most influential business aviation gathering. Each year, the event highlights safety as a central theme, with dedicated sessions, leading authorities and recognition of excellence in aviation safety and professionalism.

“Safety is a core value of NBAA and the business aviation community,” said Doug Carr, NBAA’s Senior Vice President of Safety, Security, Sustainability and International Affairs. “This new online tool adds to our growing suite of programs and resources focused on identifying, analysing and mitigating risk. It provides members with valuable benchmarks to compare their own safety performance.”

The new resource enables users to access detailed data from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) on accidents and incidents involving turbine-powered business aircraft. While the current database focuses on turboprops, turbojets and turbine helicopters, it will later expand to include piston-powered business aircraft.

Members can tailor their searches by time period, aircraft type, operation type and phase of flight, enabling deeper insights into specific areas of interest. Interactive data tables, charts and historical trend analyses — spanning the past decade — enhance the platform’s value for safety professionals.

Quarterly reports will also form part of the resource, offering up-to-date analyses as new data becomes available. The first report, covering the third quarter of 2025, has already been released, with future reports set to deliver additional insights for continuous safety improvement.

Through this initiative, NBAA reinforces its commitment to data transparency and proactive safety management, further strengthening its leadership role in advancing operational safety within business aviation.
