KOREAN AIR PARTNERS WITH ARCHER TO BRING EVTOL AIR MOBILITY TO KOREA

SEOUL, October 20, 2025 – Korean Air and Archer Aviation Inc. (NYSE: ACHR) have signed an agreement to jointly commercialise Archer’s Midnight electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft in the Republic of Korea, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s push towards advanced air mobility. The agreement includes the potential for Korean Air to purchase up to 100 Midnight aircraft, which will be deployed across a range of applications, starting with government use.

The collaboration combines Archer’s next-generation eVTOL technology with Korean Air’s five decades of aerospace manufacturing, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) experience. Together, the partners aim to accelerate the introduction of sustainable, efficient air transport solutions that align with national priorities. Korea’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport identified eVTOL and urban air mobility adoption as a strategic focus area in 2022, reflecting the government’s commitment to advancing aviation innovation.

“This partnership with Archer will accelerate Korea’s leadership in next-generation air mobility,” said Jin Kyu Lim, Senior Vice President and Head of Korean Air’s Aerospace Business. “By combining Archer’s industry-leading eVTOL technology with Korean Air’s aerospace expertise and strong commitment to innovation, we aim to lay the foundation for the next generation of air mobility in the Republic of Korea.”

Adam Goldstein, founder and CEO of Archer, added: “Korean Air’s expertise in aerospace and their comprehensive strategic vision for the future make them the ideal partner for Archer. We are excited to introduce Midnight alongside them in one of the world’s largest aerospace markets.”

Archer’s Midnight aircraft is a piloted eVTOL designed to carry four passengers, capable of performing rapid, back-to-back trips with minimal charging time. It can replace 60–90-minute car journeys with 10–20-minute electric air taxi flights that are quiet, sustainable and cost-competitive with ground transport.

Archer has made notable progress with its flight test programme, recently demonstrating Midnight at the California International Airshow before a crowd of 50,000. The aircraft completed its longest and highest altitude piloted flights to date, covering 55 miles in 31 minutes and reaching an altitude of 10,000 feet.

Through this partnership, Korea is positioning itself at the forefront of urban air mobility, integrating cutting-edge technology with its established aerospace industry to create a cleaner, faster and more connected future for air travel.
