AIR FRANCE INTRODUCES EXCLUSIVE YANN COUVREUR DESSERTS ON LONG-HAUL FLIGHTS TO SOUTH AFRICA

Johannesburg, 28 October 2025 — Air France has unveiled a selection of exclusive desserts created by acclaimed French pastry chef Yann Couvreur for its long-haul Business cabin, marking the first collaboration between the airline and the renowned chef. The initiative highlights Air France’s commitment to sharing French pastry artistry with travellers worldwide.

Yann Couvreur has designed five unique sweet creations for Business passengers, including a crunchy biscuit with ganache and intense dark chocolate mousse, and a crunchy biscuit with almond mousse and pear confit. Crafted from simple, seasonal ingredients, these desserts reflect Couvreur’s philosophy of authentic flavours and high-quality products. The chef said he aims to “showcase French products around the world and invite Air France passengers to enjoy his original, gourmet creations.”

 

The desserts are being progressively introduced on board over the next six months and are now available on all Air France long-haul flights departing Paris. Since 2023, the airline has featured renowned French pastry chefs in its Business cabin, ensuring a refined culinary experience for its passengers. Yann Couvreur joins this prestigious team, reinforcing Air France’s role as an ambassador of French fine dining in the skies.

 

About Yann Couvreur
Born in Paris, Yann Couvreur trained at esteemed establishments including Trianon Palace, Carré des Feuillants, Park Hyatt Paris Vendôme, and Eden Rock in St. Barthélemy. In 2015, he opened his first boutique in Paris’ Goncourt neighbourhood, expanding today to nearly a dozen locations across Paris and internationally to Dubai, Riyadh, Doha, Abu Dhabi, and Miami.

 

 Couvreur is known for creating traditional pastries with refined twists using seasonal, high-quality ingredients. In October 2025, he joined Air France as the exclusive pastry chef for the airline’s long-haul Business cabin.
