AIRLINK EXPANDS MOZAMBIQUE NETWORK WITH NEW NACALA ROUTE

Johannesburg, 30 October 2025 – Airlink, Southern Africa’s premier airline, has announced the addition of Nacala to its growing network of Mozambican destinations. The new route, launching in February 2026, will further strengthen connectivity between South Africa and Mozambique’s dynamic north-eastern region.

The coastal town of Nacala will become Airlink’s seventh destination in Mozambique, joining Maputo, Beira, Pemba, Nampula, Tete, and Vilanculos. From 2 February 2026, Airlink will operate twice-weekly return flights between Johannesburg and Nacala on Mondays and Fridays. The service will be flown using the airline’s comfortable and efficient Embraer regional jet aircraft.

“By adding Nacala to our network, Airlink is able to provide additional vital connectivity for business and leisure travellers to and from Mozambique’s economically important north-eastern region, complementing our current services to Nampula,” said Airlink CEO, De Villiers Engelbrecht.

Currently, Airlink operates 64 return flights per week to Mozambique, offering seamless connections to its broader network across Southern Africa, Madagascar, and St Helena Island, as well as convenient links with long-haul flights through its global airline partners.

Passengers flying Airlink enjoy a range of complimentary benefits, including a light meal, refreshments, generous legroom, and a choice of aisle or window seat – as Airlink’s aircraft do not have middle seats. Economy class fares include a 20kg luggage allowance (30kg for full-fare economy) and an additional 15kg sports equipment allowance.

Established in 1992, Airlink is Southern Africa’s leading privately-owned regional airline. With a fleet of over 65 modern jetliners, it continues to build vital air bridges across the region – connecting people, commerce, and communities.
