Jakarta, Indonesia – FL Technics Indonesia, a leading maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) provider and part of the global FL Technics Group, has officially welcomed its first Boeing 737 MAX for maintenance. The company received approval to service this aircraft type in May 2025, with the certification covering its two primary facilities at Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) and Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali (DPS).
With airlines across Southeast Asia seeking to replace ageing aircraft with models offering greater fuel efficiency, the Boeing 737 MAX is expected to meet up to 80% of this demand. Boeing’s latest Commercial Market Outlook forecasts that by 2044, the region will require 3,995 single-aisle jets to accommodate growing passenger numbers. Indonesia’s civil aviation fleet, numbering 480 aircraft, has an average age of nearly 15 years—the oldest in the region—highlighting the need for modernisation.
“Following the recent authorisation from civil aviation authorities, our local facilities are equipped to deliver high-quality 737 MAX component repair and maintenance services,” said Martynas Grigas, CEO of FL Technics Indonesia. “Backed by a global aviation group with long-term strategic goals in the region, we combine advanced MRO technologies with the expertise of leading specialists. With airlines looking to overhaul their fleets, we are ready to become their independent MRO partner of choice.”
FL Technics Indonesia is part of FL Technics Group, a global MRO provider employing over 3,000 staff worldwide and serving clients through an extensive network of base and line maintenance stations. The group itself operates under Avia Solutions Group, the world’s largest provider of ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) services.
Last year, FL Technics Indonesia opened a new facility in Bali, which has since received CASA, FAA, and DGCA aviation safety certifications, and is pursuing EASA approval. Plans are also underway to expand its 27,500 m² hangar in Jakarta by an additional 88,000 m².
In addition to the 737 MAX, FL Technics Indonesia offers comprehensive MRO services for a wide range of aircraft, including Boeing Classic, Next Generation (NG), and MAX series, as well as the Airbus A320ceo and A320neo families. The company is certified to service engines including the CFM56-3/5/7, V2500-A, LEAP-1A and 1B, and PW1100G.
