Pilatus has opened Pilatus Aircraft Ibérica SA in Seville to expand PC-12 and PC-24 production, strengthening its global manufacturing capacity and supporting growing demand in business aviation.
Pilatus has officially opened its new subsidiary, Pilatus Aircraft Ibérica SA, near Seville, marking a strategic expansion designed to meet the sustained global demand for the PC-12 and PC-24. The facility has been steadily ramping up production since early 2025, with structural assemblies for the PC-24 and wiring harnesses for the PC-12 already being manufactured on site. Structural manufacturing for the PC-12 is scheduled to begin in early 2026.
Around 75 employees are currently based at the Seville site, with further expansion planned as operations grow. The opening ceremony celebrated the union of Swiss and Spanish heritage, accompanied by alphorns and guitars. Guests were welcomed by Managing Director Victoria Vallecillos Gómez, followed by speeches from CEO Markus Bucher, Juan Manuel Moreno, President of the Regional Government of Andalusia, and Secretary of State for Defence, María Amparo Valcarce García.
A highlight of the event was a flyover by the Spanish Air Force’s Formación Mirlo, showcasing the exceptional performance of the PC-21—an impressive and crowd-pleasing finale.
CEO Markus Bucher emphasised Spain’s strong aviation ecosystem as a key factor in selecting Seville as the new production location. “To meet the growing demand for our aircraft, we decided to open a facility in Seville. Spain has a long aviation tradition, an excellent network of subcontractors and suppliers, outstanding educational institutions, highly qualified professionals, and an attractive investment environment,” he said. He also extended thanks to the Spanish government, Andalusian authorities and the economic development agency TRADE for their support.
With production space at the company’s Stans headquarters now insufficient to keep pace with demand, the Seville facility enables Pilatus to strengthen its international capabilities. The investment underscores the manufacturer’s growth potential, innovative drive and commitment to long-term partnerships in the global aviation sector.
