IFS CLOUD 25R2 BRINGS INDUSTRIAL AI TO THE FRONTLINE WORKFORCE

IFS launches IFS Cloud 25R2, introducing agentic Digital Workers and applied Industrial AI to expand workforce capacity, streamline operations and enhance aviation, asset management and field service performance.

IFS has unveiled IFS Cloud 25R2, a major release that accelerates the adoption of Industrial AI across mission-critical sectors, demonstrating how applied, industry-specific intelligence can expand workforce capacity at a time of severe labour shortages and escalating infrastructure demands.

Announced on 10 December 2025, the update introduces powerful agentic AI capabilities, including IFS Loops Digital Workers—software agents designed to think, decide and act autonomously across systems. These Digital Workers function as fully integrated members of the industrial workforce, delivering measurable outcomes while addressing the acute capacity pressures facing global industries.

Unveiled at Industrial X Unleashed, IFS emphasised a core challenge: generic AI fails in industrial reality. With $22 trillion being deployed to rebuild infrastructure, construct AI-driven factories and stabilise volatile supply chains, organisations face unprecedented shortages of skilled labour. Half of the industrial workforce is expected to retire within five years, taking vital expertise with them. IFS positions 25R2 as a direct response—expanding workforce capability through applied AI and Digital Workers that scale without limit.

At the event, Pedro Buhigas, CIO at Kodiak Gas Services, highlighted the transformational impact of IFS Loops:

“If half of our workforce engages with the agent once per day, that’s three million dollars a year of ROI. More importantly, that’s ninety thousand hours we can give back to field service technicians to do their job.”

With 25R2, IFS.ai expands its embedded intelligence across the full IFS Cloud suite—ERP, EAM and FSM—offering contextual, role-specific AI that operates as a true co-worker. IFS Chief Innovation Officer Christian Pedersen noted that the competitive strength of IFS lies in deeply embedded AI that works autonomously and profitably within complex industrial workflows, attracting global AI partners and delivering the operational transformation customers demand.

Digital Workers Target the “Invisible Work” Crisis

Industrial organisations lose 40–60% of staff capacity to repetitive “invisible work”, including order processing, inventory tasks, scheduling and data entry. These slowdowns increase downtime, delay maintenance and reduce first-time fix rates.
IFS Loops Digital Workers address this head-on. Operating with full governance and traceability, they execute complex workflows 24/7 and are engineered specifically for high-stakes industrial environments.

The first five Digital Workers include:
Customer Order Manager – Accelerates order processing and reduces errors.
Supplier Order Manager – Ensures timely, accurate supplier coordination.
Inventory Replenisher – Prevents stockouts and excess stock.
Operations Analyst – Consolidates and delivers actionable operational insights.
Material Replenisher – Secures timely availability of critical materials.

IFS Chief Product and Customer Officer Cathie Hall emphasised that AI is embedded directly into the daily work of field technicians, operations teams and maintenance planners to ensure immediate adoption and measurable results.

AI Enhancements Across the Industrial Lifecycle

IFS Cloud 25R2 embeds applied Industrial AI across every operational function:

Technician-focused AI tools enhance preparation, accuracy and first-time fix rates.
• IFS.ai Copilot provides instant field insights.
• AI-generated job summaries improve briefing quality.
• Automated Service Report Summarisation speeds customer approvals.

Enterprise Asset Management

AI improves reliability, reduces downtime and enhances maintenance precision.
• Work Task Template Optimisation
• Work Order Reporting via voice or short notes
• FMECA Data Enhancer for faster failure mode analysis

Enterprise Resource Planning

AI strengthens planning, inventory control and financial agility.
• AI-powered MRP scenario simulations
• Dynamic pricing accuracy
• Streamlined First Article Inspection
• Automated invoice data capture

Aviation Maintenance

The new IFS.ai Smart Part Finder delivers context-aware part recommendations using structured IPC data, improving part selection accuracy and speeding aircraft return-to-service.

At Industrial X Unleashed, Tony Alloway, VP North American Operations at BGIS, described the value of IFS’s approach:

“Through that transition and technology partnership, we drove 30% savings to the bottom line—proof of how simplifying complexity pays off.”

Driving Sustainable and Profitable Growth

25R2 integrates sustainability directly into daily operations. AI-powered KPI narrative generation and improved emissions tracking allow organisations to embed sustainability into planning, compliance and reporting, demonstrating that profitability and environmental responsibility can advance together.
