Porter Airlines has taken delivery of its 50th Embraer E195-E2, marking a key milestone in its rapid fleet expansion and growing North American and leisure network.
Porter Airlines has reached a significant fleet milestone with the delivery of its 50th Embraer E195-E2, underscoring the rapid growth of one of North America’s most dynamic airline expansions.
The aircraft was delivered on 23 December 2025 by Embraer, marking three years since Porter received its first E2 jet in December 2022. Since then, the airline has pursued an ambitious strategy aimed at reshaping travel across North America while setting a new benchmark for the passenger experience.
Porter currently holds firm orders for 75 E195-E2 aircraft, with purchase rights for a further 25, potentially expanding its fleet to 100 E2s. The aircraft has played a central role in supporting the airline’s expanding network across Canada and the United States, with recent growth extending into the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America.
As part of its broader strategy, Porter has extended its elevated economy offering into southern leisure markets. This includes the launch of 13 new routes to five destinations this season — Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Nassau, Grand Cayman and Liberia in Costa Rica — operating from Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Hamilton. With the addition of the 50th E2, the airline plans to continue evaluating opportunities to increase capacity across its growing network.
Michael Deluce, President and Chief Executive Officer of Porter Airlines, said the airline has remained focused on enhancing the economy travel experience since its founding in 2006. He noted that the introduction of the E2 has accelerated Porter’s growth as the fastest-growing airline in North America over the past three years, while supporting its commitment to being the only airline in the region offering no middle seats on any flight.
Embraer’s Vice President Sales and Marketing and Head of Region North America, Nigel Patterson, described Porter as a disruptor in North American travel. He said the airline’s focus on passenger experience highlights the E195-E2’s balance of operational efficiency, passenger comfort and environmental performance, reinforcing the aircraft’s suitability for next-generation growth and market expansion.
The E195-E2 is the largest member of Embraer’s E-Jets E2 family and delivers up to 29% lower fuel burn compared with first-generation E-Jets. With a range of 3,000 nautical miles, the aircraft supports non-stop operations across North America, Mexico and the Caribbean. It is designed for high-frequency routes and features fourth-generation fly-by-wire avionics, a quiet cabin, onboard Wi-Fi, seatback power and a no-middle-seat configuration.
Porter complements the aircraft’s capabilities with a category-leading inflight product, offering all passengers complimentary wine and beer served in glassware, premium snacks and streaming-quality Wi-Fi. Together with its expanding fleet and network, Porter’s approach continues to redefine the airline’s position within the North American aviation market.
