CESSNA CITATION ASCEND ENTERS SERVICE, RAISING THE BAR FOR MIDSIZE BUSINESS JETS

WICHITA, Kan. – December 31, 2025 – Textron Aviation marked a significant milestone with the first retail delivery of the Cessna Citation Ascend on 30 December, officially bringing the aircraft into service. Launched in 2023, the midsize business jet introduces a new cockpit, improved performance and a luxurious flat-floor cabin, aiming to redefine the midsize segment. The aircraft received FAA type certification in November 2025.

“The first Citation Ascend delivery underscores Textron Aviation’s commitment to redefining the midsize segment with an aircraft that blends innovation, efficiency and unmatched comfort,” said Lannie O’Bannion, senior vice president, Sales & Marketing. “We look forward to seeing the Ascend begin its journey with customers around the globe.”

With over 1,000 Cessna Citation 560XL series aircraft delivered since 2000, the Ascend builds on a legacy of performance, comfort, ease of operation and operational efficiency.

Advanced Cockpit Enhancements

The Citation Ascend features the Garmin G5000 avionics suite, including:

  • Autothrottle technology to reduce pilot workload and provide flight-envelope protection
  • Three 14-inch ultra high-resolution displays with split-screen capability
  • Dual flight management systems and synthetic vision for enhanced situational awareness
  • Cockpit satellite communications for real-time diagnostics and satellite calls
  • Advanced weather detection and optional CPDLC for more direct North America–Europe routing

The new cockpit reduces pilot workload while the flat-floor cabin accommodates up to 12 passengers in a quiet environment comparable to a car driving down the highway.

Comfort, Connectivity, and Productivity

Cabin upgrades include 15% larger windows, wireless controls for lighting, temperature, window shades and entertainment, and customisable interior options. Connectivity comes standard via GoGo U.S. Avance L3 Max Wi-Fi, with optional U.S. Avance L5 or Gogo Galileo HDX solutions.

Powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW545D engines, the Ascend achieves a maximum speed of 441 ktas, with a four-passenger range of 1,940 nautical miles (3,593 km) and a full fuel payload of 900 lb. (408 kg). A Honeywell RE100 [XL] APU supports quieter and more efficient preflight operations.

Global Support and Maintenance

Textron Aviation provides extensive aftermarket support, including 20 company-owned service centres, 21 authorised facilities, and over 80 mobile service units. Customers benefit from same-day parts shipping, 24/7 AOG support, and diagnostic tools such as Pratt & Whitney FAST™ box and Textron Aviation LinxUs system, enabling faster return to service.

The aircraft carries an industry-leading 18-month or 800-hour airframe maintenance interval, a five-year or 5,000-hour Garmin warranty, two-year paint and interior coverage, and a five-year or 3,000-hour engine warranty. Optional PowerAdvantage Premium coverage enhances protection with environmental damage repair, mobile engine support and labour coverage.
