GA-ASI AND BARZAN HOLDINGS SIGN MOU ON ADVANCED BATTLE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE

GA-ASI and Barzan Holdings have signed an MOU at DIMDEX 2026 to collaborate on advanced battle management software, focusing on improved situational awareness and intelligence integration in multi-domain operational environments.

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) and Barzan Holdings have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on the development of advanced battle management software capabilities. The agreement was signed on Monday during the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX).

The MOU establishes a framework for cooperation between GA-ASI, GA-Intelligence and Barzan Holdings, focusing on the development of software solutions intended to enhance theatre-level situational awareness. These solutions are designed to enable the efficient processing, correlation and dissemination of intelligence, supporting faster and higher-quality decision-making in complex, multi-domain operational environments.

Software collaboration and intelligence integration

Under the agreement, the three organisations will work together on capabilities that support integrated command-and-control functions. The collaboration is aimed at improving how intelligence from multiple sources is managed and fused to generate a comprehensive operating picture.

In addition to its unmanned aircraft systems portfolio, GA-ASI is a developer of airborne Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems. GA-Intelligence contributes data science, software development and systems engineering expertise, with the ability to integrate and analyse large volumes of commercial and operational data, including data generated by GA-ASI’s unmanned platforms.

Strategic cooperation with Qatar

For General Atomics, the MOU highlights the strategic importance of collaboration with Barzan Holdings and the State of Qatar. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to long-term cooperation, technological development and the advancement of interoperable command-and-control solutions aligned with contemporary defence and aerospace requirements.

Commenting on the agreement, Linden Blue, Chief Executive Officer of GA-ASI, said collaboration with Barzan and Qatar is central to the company’s approach to delivering operationally relevant, next-generation capabilities. He noted that combining General Atomics’ expertise in mission systems and autonomy with Barzan’s regional insight and defence focus positions the partners to advance battle management solutions that improve situational awareness and intelligence exploitation.
