ANKARA – Türkiye-based flight simulator manufacturer HAVELSAN has broken ground on a new flight simulator production and integration facility aimed at expanding its manufacturing capacity for civil and military simulators.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the new 17,000-square-metre facility was chaired by the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and attended by HAVELSAN Chairman Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali Mantar and CEO Dr. Mehmet Akif Nacar, together with senior government officials and industry representatives.
FACILITY TO EXPAND SIMULATOR PRODUCTION
Once completed, the new Simulator Production and Integration Facility will allow HAVELSAN to produce more than 30 flight simulators annually while enabling the simultaneous development of up to 16 simulators at different stages of production and integration.
Combined with the company’s existing infrastructure in Ankara, HAVELSAN’s total capacity will reach up to 40 commercial and military simulators under development and operation at any given time. The expansion is intended to strengthen manufacturing capacity serving customers across Europe and the Middle East.
SUPPORT FOR NEXT-GENERATION SIMULATOR TECHNOLOGIES
The facility will also support HAVELSAN’s next-generation simulator technologies, including the STARVIEW-B collimated display system.
Developed internally by the company’s display systems team, the system is designed to deliver high-fidelity visual representation intended to enhance pilot immersion and procedural accuracy in advanced training environments.
The technology forms part of HAVELSAN’s STARLINE FSTD product portfolio, which supports the development of full flight simulators and related training systems.
SUPPORTING TÜRKİYE’S AVIATION TRAINING ECOSYSTEM
The facility is scheduled to enter service in 2027 and is expected to create hundreds of engineering and technical jobs in the Ankara region.
HAVELSAN has expanded its simulator production activities in recent years, supporting domestic airline training requirements with customers including Turkish Airlines, SunExpress and the International Flight Training Centre (IFTC).
The company is also contributing to national aerospace programmes including HÜRJET, HÜRKUŞ, KAAN and GÖKBEY.
With more than 40 years of experience in flight simulation technologies, HAVELSAN has delivered training systems across multiple aircraft platforms and civil and military aviation operators worldwide.
