NATIONAL AIRLINES COMMENCES TEST FLIGHTS FOR FIRST BOEING 777-200 FREIGHTER

National Airlines has commenced test flights of its first Boeing 777-200 Freighter, marking the next phase in the aircraft’s entry into service.

ENTRY INTO SERVICE PROGRAMME UNDERWAY

The aircraft, registered N791CA, began its test flight programme in March 2026 and is expected to enter revenue service in May 2026 following completion of regulatory and performance evaluations.

Three additional Boeing 777-200 Freighters are scheduled to undergo similar test programmes in the coming months.

FLEET DEVELOPMENT AND CARGO CAPABILITY

The Boeing 777-200 Freighter has a payload capacity of more than 100 tonnes and a range exceeding 9,000 kilometres, supporting long-haul cargo operations.

The aircraft will complement National Airlines’ existing freighter fleet, which includes Boeing 747-400 freighters, as well as a passenger fleet of Airbus A330-200 and A330-300 aircraft.

ROLE IN LONG-HAUL CARGO OPERATIONS

The introduction of the aircraft supports the airline’s long-haul cargo operations, particularly in sectors requiring high payload and extended range capability.

The addition forms part of the airline’s ongoing fleet development programme as it expands its cargo network.

GLOBAL OPERATIONS CONTEXT

National Airlines operates global cargo and charter services across a network serving more than 450 airports, supporting sectors including logistics, humanitarian operations, and industrial transport.
