inter airport Europe will relocate to Milan and relaunch as inter airport Global in 2027, introducing new operational and ground support equipment demonstration platforms.
inter airport Global 2027 will relocate to Milan and adopt a new global identity in 2027 as organisers reposition the long-running airport operations exhibition to reflect the increasing complexity and internationalisation of modern airport infrastructure and operational systems.
Event organiser RX confirmed that the exhibition, previously known as inter airport Europe, will take place from 12 to 14 October 2027 at Fiera Milano Rho.
According to RX, the rebranding reflects the evolving operational demands facing airports globally, including infrastructure resilience, airside efficiency, sustainability, security, passenger flow management, and capacity growth.
A significant addition to the 2027 edition will be the introduction of “GSE Live”, a dedicated live demonstration platform for ground support equipment and operational technologies. Organisers said the initiative is intended to support airport operators and service providers in evaluating equipment and procurement solutions under operationally relevant conditions.
The exhibition and live demonstration programme will collectively cover multiple areas of airport operations, including terminal systems, airfield infrastructure, fuelling, logistics, intermodal connectivity, and ramp services.
Syreeta Tranfield said the transition from inter airport Europe to inter airport Global was designed to align the event with an increasingly technology-driven and interconnected airport operating environment.
Matteo Trezzi said Milan’s infrastructure and international accessibility positioned the city as a suitable host for a large-scale global airport operations exhibition.
Organisers expect the event to attract more than 6,000 airport operations leaders and solution providers from over 110 countries. An expanded hosted buyer programme will also form part of the 2027 edition, targeting airport decision-makers involved in procurement, planning, engineering, and operational infrastructure projects.
The conference programme will include technical workshops, roundtables, and operational sessions covering themes such as terminal efficiency, digitalisation, automation, sustainability, operational resilience, and passenger experience optimisation.
RX stated that the revised event structure aims to provide airport stakeholders with practical operational insight, live technology exposure, and peer-to-peer collaboration opportunities focused on future airport performance and infrastructure development.
