EVA Air has retained its SKYTRAX 5-Star Airline certification for the 11th consecutive year while expanding its North American network with a new Washington, D.C. route.
Recognition reinforces airline’s long-term operational and service consistency
EVA Air has retained its SKYTRAX 5-Star Airline certification for the 11th consecutive year, maintaining its position among the world’s highest-rated commercial airlines.
The latest SKYTRAX assessment recognised the Taiwanese carrier across multiple operational and passenger service categories, including flight safety, cabin crew professionalism, aircraft cleanliness, business class amenities, onboard beverage quality, and overall passenger experience.
The evaluation also highlighted the airline’s ground service standards, including check-in efficiency, transfer processes, baggage handling, and lounge operations.
Long-term service consistency
EVA Air President Clay Sun said the continued recognition reflected both operational discipline and passenger trust built over more than a decade.
“For EVA Air, maintaining the 5-Star Airline distinction for over a decade is both an honour and a responsibility,” said Sun.
He added that the airline would continue focusing on safety standards, service development, and sustainability initiatives under its operational principles of “Safety, Service, and Sustainability”.
SKYTRAX introduced its airline rating system in 1999 and evaluates carriers across a broad range of passenger service and operational categories. Only a limited number of airlines worldwide currently hold 5-Star Airline status.
North American network expansion
Alongside the certification announcement, EVA Air confirmed that it will launch a new Taipei–Washington, D.C. service on 26 June 2026.
The route will operate four times weekly and will feature the airline’s fourth-generation Premium Economy cabin product.
The addition will expand EVA Air’s North American network to 10 destinations and increase total weekly frequencies between Taiwan and North America to 98 flights.
According to the airline, three North American gateways will now feature the latest Premium Economy configuration.
EVA Air also recently retained a position within AirlineRatings.com’s “World’s Safest Airlines” rankings for the 13th consecutive year.
Fleet and alliance presence
Founded in 1989, EVA Air was Taiwan’s first privately owned international airline and is a member of the Star Alliance network.
The airline operates a fleet of more than 80 Boeing and Airbus aircraft serving approximately 60 destinations across Asia, Oceania, Europe, and North America.
