UAC DELIVERS NEW BATCH OF SU-35S FIGHTERS TO RUSSIAN AEROSPACE FORCES

United Aircraft Corporation has delivered a new batch of Su-35S multi-role fighter aircraft to the Russian Aerospace Forces following completion of factory testing.

Aircraft complete factory testing before transfer to operational units

MOSCOW – The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), part of the Rostec State Corporation, has delivered a new batch of Su-35S multi-role fighter aircraft to the Russian Aerospace Forces.

According to UAC, the aircraft completed a full cycle of factory testing before being accepted by the Russian Ministry of Defence. The fighters were evaluated across various operating modes by military test pilots before being flown to their assigned home airfield.

Multi-role operational capability

The Su-35S is a 4++ generation fighter aircraft designed primarily for air superiority missions. The aircraft is also capable of engaging ground and surface targets and conducting reconnaissance operations.

A pilot from the Russian Aerospace Forces stated that the aircraft is used for a range of operational tasks, including the interception of air targets at long range, protection of strike formations, engagement of unmanned aerial vehicles, and the employment of precision-guided weapons against surface targets. The pilot also noted the aircraft’s role in reconnaissance missions.

Continuing fleet deliveries

The latest delivery forms part of ongoing efforts by the Russian Ministry of Defence to equip operational units with military aircraft and other defence equipment. UAC did not disclose the number of aircraft included in the latest batch.

The Su-35S remains one of Russia’s principal fighter aircraft platforms and is designed to conduct operations at significant distances from its home airfield while supporting a range of air combat and strike missions.
