A NEW ERA FOR LIGHT AVIATION: AURA AERO UNVEILS THE INTEGRAL E

In a milestone moment for light aviation, AURA AERO’s revolutionary all-electric aircraft, the INTEGRAL E, took to the skies for the first time on December 3, 2024. The two-seater aircraft, designed for training, aerobatics, and leisure, achieved its inaugural flight from Toulouse-Francazal airport, heralding a significant step toward the decarbonisation of aviation.

The INTEGRAL E’s first prototype, bearing the registration F-WIAE, lifted off at 8:48 CET under clear skies and light winds. AURA AERO’s president and co-founder, Jérémy Caussade, described the occasion as a momentous achievement. The aircraft, part of the broader INTEGRAL family, directly addresses the needs of flying clubs and training schools seeking environmentally friendly and cost-effective solutions.

With a focus on sustainability, the INTEGRAL E offers a one-hour flight range and the ability to supercharge in under 30 minutes. This innovative electric aircraft boasts operating costs half that of its thermal-engine counterparts, making it an attractive option for aviation institutions worldwide. The versatile design will also include a glider tow-plane version, further expanding its utility.

AURA AERO has garnered significant interest in the INTEGRAL family, with a growing order-book comprising several hundred units across its three versions. Deliveries of the thermal-engine INTEGRAL R are set to commence in early 2025, with the electric INTEGRAL E entering service in 2026 following two years of rigorous flight testing.

The development of the INTEGRAL E has been a collaborative effort, with notable contributions from key partners and suppliers, including The Occitanie Region, France 2030, Safran, EDF, Garmin, EPS, and Duc Hélices. Their collective expertise has ensured the aircraft meets the demands of modern aviation while embracing the principles of sustainability.

As one of the first aircraft to combine electric propulsion with aerobatic capabilities, the INTEGRAL E represents a world premiere in aviation innovation. Its debut marks a pivotal step in light aviation’s journey toward decarbonisation, positioning AURA AERO at the forefront of environmentally responsible flight.
