AIR FRANCE EXTENDS DIRECT CAPE TOWN–PARIS ROUTE TO MAY 2026 FOLLOWING UNPRECEDENTED DEMAND

Johannesburg, 8 October 2025 – Air France has announced the extension of its direct seasonal service between Cape Town and Paris until 3 May 2026, following exceptional demand for the route.

Initially scheduled to end in March 2026, the service has quickly become one of the most popular for both South African travellers bound for Europe and international visitors heading to the Mother City.

The announcement underscores Cape Town’s enduring appeal as one of South Africa’s most sought-after destinations—particularly during the northern hemisphere winter, when travellers seek the city’s sunshine, beaches, and vibrant culture. South Africans, in turn, enjoy seamless access to Air France’s extensive global network, offering direct connectivity to Paris and convenient onward travel throughout Europe and beyond.

Operating daily, flight AF0871 departs Cape Town at 08:50, arriving in Paris at 19:20, while the return service, AF0890, leaves Paris at 18:30 and lands in Cape Town at 06:45 the following morning.

Served by the Airbus A350, the route combines efficiency with the signature elegance of French air travel. Passengers can look forward to an onboard experience defined by comfort, refined dining inspired by French culinary traditions, and Champagne service across all cabins.

Cape Town remains one of the most inspiring destinations in our network, and we are thrilled to see such strong demand for our seasonal Paris–Cape Town route,” says Wilson Tauro, Country Manager Southern Africa at Air France–KLM. “This extension not only reflects the continued appetite for travel between Cape Town and Europe but also reinforces Air France’s commitment to connecting South Africans to the world with style, comfort, and efficiency.

The extended schedule highlights Air France’s confidence in South Africa’s tourism recovery and the continued growth of international travel to and from the region.
