AIR FRANCE-KLM AND GROUPE ADP INTRODUCE “SHORT CONNECTION PASS” AT PARIS-CHARLES DE GAULLE

Johannesburg, 22 October 2025 – Air France-KLM and Groupe ADP have taken a significant step towards enhancing passenger convenience at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport with the launch of the “Short Connection Pass”, the first initiative under their strengthened partnership, Connect France.

Announced during the 55th edition of the Paris Air Show last June, Connect France aims to improve the overall passenger experience at Air France’s main hub through digital innovation and operational coordination.

Every day, Air France carries up to 140,000 passengers, nearly half of whom transfer through Paris-Charles de Gaulle. To streamline this process, Groupe ADP has implemented a dedicated transit route supported by a newly redesigned multilingual signage system. The new connection management system gives priority access to passengers whose connection times fall below a set threshold, ensuring they can reach their next flight quickly and efficiently.

When a passenger’s transfer time becomes tight—such as less than 45 minutes between arriving from Toulouse and departing to New York JFK—an automatic priority process is activated. Travellers are notified via SMS and email, with upcoming integration into the Air France mobile app and WhatsApp. Upon reaching security or border control, their boarding pass scan alerts Groupe ADP’s service provider, granting immediate priority access.

This intelligent system operates through real-time data exchange between Air France, Groupe ADP, and service partners, incorporating estimated walking times, checkpoint wait times, and updated flight schedules. The aim is to minimise delays and enhance the connection experience without requiring any manual input from passengers.

Regis Lacote, Director of Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport, said:

“The Short Connection Pass is simple for passengers and operationally effective—a real step forward in improving the travel experience. It perfectly illustrates our shared ambition with Air France-KLM to streamline passenger flows and make Paris-Charles de Gaulle an even more efficient and attractive hub.”

Alain-Hervé Bernard, Executive Vice President of Operations and Cargo at Air France, added:

“Supporting our customers and making their journey easier is a top priority. With this initiative, we are reaffirming our ambition to position Paris-Charles de Gaulle among the world’s leading hubs.”
