AIRLINK EXPANDS SUMMER SCHEDULE WITH MORE FLIGHTS AND NEW ROUTES

The independent regional airline is adding new routes and frequencies between October and December, bringing its new Embraer E195-E2 and Business Class product to more customers across Southern Africa.

Airlink, the independent and privately owned regional airline, is expanding its schedule for the Southern African summer season, adding new routes, increasing frequencies on several services, and bringing its new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft and Business Class product to more customers, the airline said in Johannesburg on 19 October 2026. The changes, introduced between October and December 2026, are intended to give customers more convenient flight options during the region’s peak leisure and family travel season.

“Whether people are travelling to spend time with their loved ones, heading off on holiday or working throughout the season, we want to give our customers more choice and a better experience, wherever they are going and whatever takes them there,” said Airlink CEO de Villiers Engelbrecht.

OCTOBER 2026 SCHEDULE CHANGES

From October, Airlink is adding its new E195-E2 Business Class offering to its twice-weekly Johannesburg to Zanzibar service (flights 4Z010/4Z011), increasing to three flights a week for the December peak using an additional Embraer E190. The airline’s daily Johannesburg to Nairobi service (4Z070/4Z071) is also being upgraded to E195-E2 operation. Airlink’s new E195-E2 aircraft feature a first-of-its-kind staggered seating layout in the premium cabin, offering a quieter, more spacious and private experience.

NOVEMBER 2026 SCHEDULE CHANGES

November will see the launch of Airlink’s Johannesburg Lanseria to Harare service (4Z090/4Z091), operating three times a week using an Embraer E190. The airline said the route gives travellers from the northern and north-western suburbs of Johannesburg, the West Rand, parts of Pretoria and the North West province a convenient alternative to travelling through O.R. Tambo International Airport.

DECEMBER 2026 SCHEDULE CHANGES

From December, Airlink is adding a further weekly Johannesburg to Zanzibar frequency, a new daily return service between Johannesburg O.R. Tambo International and George, and an additional flight to Nosy Be in Madagascar for the peak summer season. From Cape Town, the airline will increase its Harare service to three weekly flights and add two further weekend return services to George, complementing its existing Garden Route network.
