A SUCCESSION STRUCTURED TO RETAIN THE OUTGOING CHIEF EXECUTIVE

B&H Worldwide has announced the appointment of Matt Silverberg as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Silverberg succeeds Stuart Allen, who assumes the role of Chairman and Board Advisor after thirteen years as chief executive. Silverberg will be based in the United States and will lead the company’s global operations and strategic growth initiatives; Allen will continue to provide strategic direction and support the executive leadership team from Singapore.

The structure is worth noting because it is not the usual arrangement. A chief executive of thirteen years departing to a chairmanship rather than out of the business retains institutional knowledge and long-standing customer relationships that would otherwise leave with him, while the geographic split (the new chief executive in the United States, the chairman in Singapore) places senior leadership in both of the company’s principal growth regions rather than concentrating it at the Heathrow headquarters. Whether such arrangements work depends entirely on the clarity of the division between them, but the intent is legible.

Silverberg brings executive leadership experience across time-critical logistics, supply chain and professional services, having held chief executive and chief commercial officer positions and led organisations ranging from high-growth businesses to global enterprises. The company identifies his record as spanning revenue growth through both organic expansion and acquisition, business transformation programmes and the building of international teams.

THE MARKET BEING ENTERED

The appointment comes at a point when demand for resilient and technology-enabled aerospace supply chain solutions is rising as global fleets expand and maintenance activity accelerates. That pressure is visible across the sector: aircraft delivery delays have extended the operating lives of existing fleets, which raises maintenance demand at precisely the moment MRO capacity and skilled labour are constrained, and the resulting scarcity places a premium on the speed at which a grounded aircraft can be returned to service. Aircraft on ground logistics (moving a part to an aircraft anywhere in the world in the shortest possible time) is the segment where that premium is most directly monetised.
