Boeing secures a U.S. Army Foreign Military Sales contract to deliver 96 AH-64E Apache helicopters to Poland from 2028 — the largest Apache order outside the U.S., strengthening Poland’s defence capability.
Boeing has been awarded a Foreign Military Sales contract by the U.S. Army to produce AH-64E Apache attack helicopters for international customers, including 96 aircraft for the Polish Armed Forces. Valued at nearly $4.7 billion, the order marks the largest procurement of Apache helicopters outside of the United States and positions Poland as the 19th global operator.
Deliveries to Poland are scheduled to begin in 2028. In preparation, the Polish Ministry of National Defence is already training pilots and maintenance personnel, supported by the lease of eight Apaches currently in operation with the U.S. Army.
“This important agreement allows us to begin building one of the largest and most formidable Apache fleets that the world has ever seen,” said Christina Upah, vice president of Boeing’s Attack Helicopter Programs. “Working closely with the Polish Armed Forces, we’re focused on disciplined execution to help enhance Poland’s defence capabilities and keep up with the strong demand for the most advanced attack helicopter.”
Under an offset agreement announced last year, Polish industry will take on a significant role in supporting the fleet through maintenance and technical services. Boeing will establish training programmes and assist in the development of a composite laboratory to further build domestic capability.
Boeing recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Apache’s first flight at its Mesa production site. The AH-64E model remains the most advanced version of the platform, with new aircraft delivered in recent months to the Australian Army, Indian Army and Royal Moroccan Air Force. Worldwide, more than 1,300 Apaches are currently in service, with sustainment and training support provided by Boeing Global Services.
Boeing develops and manufactures commercial aircraft, defence platforms and space systems for customers in more than 150 countries, supported by a global workforce and supplier network committed to safety, quality and integrity.
