DIAMOND AIRCRAFT BOOSTS DA62 MPP CAPABILITY WITH INCREASED MAXIMUM TAKEOFF MASS

Diamond Aircraft Industries has announced a significant upgrade to its DA62 MPP, a versatile multi-mission aircraft. The company has increased the maximum takeoff mass (MTOM) to 2,360 kilograms, a 2.5% improvement that enhances the aircraft’s payload capacity, operational range, and overall efficiency.

This development underscores Diamond Aircraft’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of operators who rely on the DA62 MPP for various missions, from surveillance to environmental monitoring.

Enhanced Payload and Range

The upgraded MTOM translates into an additional 60 kilograms of payload, enabling operators to carry more mission-critical equipment, fuel, or supplies. This increase provides up to one additional hour of endurance, allowing for extended operations without compromising the aircraft’s performance.

Despite the increased weight, the DA62 MPP maintains its industry-leading fuel efficiency, ensuring cost-effective operations over longer missions. Operators can expect enhanced profitability and mission flexibility, a hallmark of Diamond Aircraft’s design philosophy.

Safety and Certification

Diamond Aircraft emphasised that the MTOM upgrade adheres to rigorous safety and reliability standards. Certified by aviation authorities, the enhanced capabilities reflect the company’s dedication to providing state-of-the-art solutions without compromising safety.

“We are thrilled to offer our customers an aircraft that not only meets but exceeds their operational needs,” said Mario Spiegel, Head of Sales for Diamond Special Mission Aircraft Division. “The increased MTOM of the DA62 MPP is a testament to our commitment to innovation and excellence in aviation.”

Versatility and Competitive Advantages

The DA62 MPP remains one of the most versatile airborne platforms in its class, combining simple handling with cutting-edge features. Key advantages include:

  • Jet-A fuelled diesel engines, ensuring the lowest operating costs in its category.
  • A low noise and infrared signature due to the engines’ on-top exhaust system.
  • Corrosion-resistant, all-composite construction that enhances durability.
  • Superior aerodynamics for optimal performance.

The upgraded DA62 MPP is available for order now, with deliveries beginning in January 2025. This enhancement positions Diamond Aircraft as a leader in providing innovative, cost-efficient, and reliable solutions for operators across a range of industries.
