DIAMOND AIRCRAFT SHINES BRIGHT AT AERO FRIEDRICHSHAFEN 2024

Diamond Aircraft, a leading figure in aviation innovation, took center stage at the 2024 AERO Friedrichshafen in Germany, Europe’s premier trade show for general aviation. The event bore witness to Diamond’s groundbreaking advancements and celebrated significant milestones, drawing in visitors, customers, and partners alike.

With exhibitor and visitor numbers reaching new heights at the 30th AERO, the event showcased numerous European and world premieres, emphasising sustainability in aviation. This edition, marking the show’s anniversary, stood out for its abundance of innovations and debuts, attracting 31,500 visitors from 81 nations, a notable increase from previous years.

Diamond Aircraft’s impressive exhibit featured a lineup including the eDA40, DA50 RG, DA42-VI, DA62, and a specially tailored flight simulator, providing an immersive training experience. Attendees were also treated to an array of Diamond merchandise at the Pilot Shop. The highlight, however, was the commemoration of the DA42’s 20-year anniversary, symbolizing two decades of Diamond’s commitment to excellence and innovation.

Stealing the spotlight was the world debut of Diamond’s all-electric eDA40 prototype, featuring a transparent cowling that captivated audiences and earned it the distinction of being the show’s standout attraction.

The eDA40’s acclaim was further solidified as it clinched the prestigious aerokurier innovation award in the motor and electric aircraft category, a testament to its groundbreaking design and technological prowess.

A notable moment came during Diamond Aircraft’s press conference on the opening day, where CEO Frank Zhang and Mattias Spohr, CEO of Lufthansa Aviation Training, discussed the successful test flights conducted in Dübendorf leading up to AERO.

“The European Flight Academy, the flight school of Lufthansa Group, is not only dedicated to highest training standards but also commits itself to new approaches to foster sustainability in aviation. We are delighted to be part of the eDA40 development process. It gives us a deep understanding of the new technology used and enables us to use it for the most advanced training,” stated Matthias Spohr, CEO of Lufthansa Aviation Training.

Diamond Aircraft extends gratitude to all who contributed to making AERO Friedrichshafen 2024 a resounding success and looks forward to future engagements.
