EMBRAER SHOWCASES DEFENCE & SECURITY PORTFOLIO AT ADEX 2025

Embraer will return to Seoul ADEX 2025 from 20 to 24 October to highlight its defence and security portfolio, featuring the C-390 Millennium at Booth 7-I6. Embraer Defence & Security solutions operate in over 60 countries across air, land, sea, and space domains.

“Our presence at ADEX reflects our strong commitment to Korea’s defence industry,” said Bosco da Costa Junior, President & CEO of Embraer Defence & Security. “The C-390 aircraft for South Korea are advancing as planned, and we value the close cooperation with DAPA, ROKAF, and our Korean suppliers on this project.”

In 2023, South Korea’s Defence Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) selected the C-390 Millennium under its Large Transport Aircraft (LTA-II) tender, providing the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) with modern military transport capabilities. The aircraft will be specially configured to meet ROKAF requirements and supported with training, ground equipment, and spare parts.

The agreement includes a robust industrial cooperation programme, with key C-390 components manufactured in South Korea by local partners ASTG, EMK, and Kencoa Aerospace, strengthening the nation’s defence industrial base and Korea-Brazil aerospace collaboration.

Last month, Embraer and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) hosted a week-long roadshow in Sacheon and Busan, engaging Korean companies and identifying new areas for collaboration. Embraer has maintained partnerships in South Korea since the launch of its E-Jets E2 commercial program in 2013, and the Korean Flight Inspection Center has operated the Embraer Praetor 600 since 2024.

C-390 Millennium Continues Global Momentum
International interest in the C-390 Millennium remains strong. Beyond South Korea, 10 other Air Forces have selected the aircraft. The Portuguese Air Force recently ordered a sixth C-390 and secured ten purchase options for potential acquisitions by other nations.

Since entering service with the Brazilian Air Force in 2019, the Portuguese Air Force in 2023, and the Hungarian Air Force in 2024, the C-390 has demonstrated reliability and performance, with a mission completion rate exceeding 99%. The aircraft carries up to 26 tons, flies at 470 knots, and is capable of varied missions including troop and cargo transport, medical evacuation, SAR, firefighting, humanitarian relief, and operations from temporary or unpaved runways. Configured as the KC-390, it also provides air-to-air refuelling, both as a tanker and receiver.
