Top-selling cropduster highlights safety, sustainability and productivity in “A Look to the Future” event.
Embraer will take centre stage at the Brazilian Agricultural Aviation Congress, held from 19 to 21 August in Santo Antônio do Leverger, Mato Grosso, showcasing its flagship ethanol-powered Ipanema 203 cropduster — a pioneer in biofuel aviation and leader in Brazil’s agricultural aviation sector.
With over 20 years of operational experience flying on 100% ethanol, the Ipanema 203 holds a commanding 60% market share in Brazil’s agricultural aviation fleet. Combining robust design with advanced precision technology, the aircraft delivers high productivity while maintaining low operating costs — a key draw for agricultural producers seeking efficient and sustainable solutions.
Strong Market and Sustainable Performance
According to Sany Onofre, Embraer’s Agricultural Aviation leader, the congress — organised by SINDAG and themed “A look to the future” — is an ideal platform to share innovation and trends in the sector. “Producers are increasingly looking for solutions that bring productivity, lower production costs and ensure operational safety,” she noted.
The Ipanema 203 has seen more than 180 units sold in the last three years, confirming its status as a preferred choice among operators. Equipped with a wide range of systems designed to increase precision and environmental sustainability, the aircraft:
- Sprays over 200 hectares per hour, with efficiency equal to four large ground sprayers
- Avoids soil compaction and reduces pest spread
- Increases crop yield by up to 15 bags per hectare
Focus on Safety and Training
Beyond the aircraft itself, Embraer has been highly active in promoting operational safety. At sector events, the company runs initiatives covering preventive maintenance, safe working environments and best practices for pilots, mechanics and operators.
Notably, 100% of agricultural pilot training courses in Brazil now include safety lectures from Embraer’s Ipanema customer support team, encouraging a solid safety culture from the start of every pilot’s career.
