TOKYO, Japan – Embraer is set to spotlight its next-generation multi-mission aircraft, the KC-390 Millennium, at DSEI Japan 2025, taking place in Chiba City from May 21 to 23. The aircraft — acclaimed for its unmatched performance, versatility, and modern military utility — will headline the Brazilian manufacturer’s presence at Booth H8-480.
“Embraer is honoured to be at DSEI Japan, showcasing the capabilities and reliability of the KC-390 Millennium that continue to attract operators worldwide,” said Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security. “Japan is an important market for us, and we’re committed to supporting its defence and aerospace requirements.”
The KC-390 Millennium is gaining rapid traction globally, already in operation with the air forces of Brazil, Portugal, and Hungary, and on order by South Korea, the Netherlands, Austria, and Czech Republic. Recent selections by Sweden and Slovakia further affirm the aircraft’s growing strategic footprint — including within NATO — bolstering interoperability among key allies.
Capable of flying faster (470 knots), farther, and carrying more payload (up to 26 tonnes) than any other aircraft in its category, the KC-390 Millennium is powered by IAE V2500 engines and designed for rugged operations. Its robust architecture allows take-off and landing from short, unpaved, or damaged runways, making it ideal for missions in disaster zones and austere environments.
Designed from inception as a multi-role platform, the KC-390 can conduct airlift, troop transport, aeromedical evacuation, aerial firefighting, search and rescue (SAR), humanitarian relief, and air-to-air refuelling (AAR). The platform also supports maritime surveillance missions, where its AAR capability extends time on station and reach — attributes especially suited to Japan’s extensive island geography and strategic needs.
Operational feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with the KC-390 boasting a mission accomplishment rate of 99% and low operational costs, adding significant value for operators seeking both strategic and tactical flexibility.
Embraer continues to grow its presence across Asia-Pacific, with defence platforms already serving in India, the Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia. South Korea will soon join the KC-390 Millennium operator community as deliveries commence.
With a track record of delivering 21 aircraft platforms in two decades, Embraer’s participation at DSEI Japan underscores its commitment to technological innovation and its vision for strengthening regional defence cooperation through proven aerospace solutions.
