Embraer, in collaboration with the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), presented the C-390 Millennium and A-29 Super Tucano during a milestone event on March 18 and 19 in Melbourne, Florida. Held at Embraer Executive Jets’ headquarters near the Melbourne Orlando International Airport, the showcase welcomed a distinguished audience including government officials, military personnel, prospects, and partners.
In addition to highlighting defense aircraft, Embraer featured the Praetor 600, recognized as the world’s most technologically advanced super-midsize jet, and the Phenom 300E, the leading light jet for 12 consecutive years. Attendees had the opportunity to intimately explore these cutting-edge aircraft and gain insights into their capabilities over the two-day event.
Bosco da Costa Junior, President & CEO of Embraer Defense & Security, expressed pride in hosting both the C-390 Millennium and A-29 Super Tucano at the Melbourne facility. He emphasized the significance of engaging with a diverse audience while showcasing aircraft produced just hours away in Jacksonville. Moreover, he underscored the enduring importance of the A-29 Super Tucano to Embraer’s manufacturing presence in Florida, highlighting potential market opportunities for both aircraft.
The C-390 boasts a versatile platform featuring a blend of mature, proven, and innovative technologies, offering low operating costs, ease of maintenance, and maximum operational readiness. With exceptional fleet performance and high availability, it fulfills various mission requirements such as cargo and troop transport, medical evacuation, search and rescue, firefighting, and humanitarian aid. Notably, the aircraft’s capabilities include operating from temporary or unpaved runways, with current users spanning South Korea, Czech Republic, Austria, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Brazil.
With an impressive global record of over 500,000 flight hours, including 60,000 in combat, the A-29 Super Tucano stands as a turboprop light attack aircraft employed by 16 air forces worldwide. Its versatility encompasses roles from close air support to air interdiction, supported by an array of weaponry adaptable to diverse environments.
