Ethiopian Airlines will resume daily passenger services to Durban, South Africa, effective 11 December 2026, making it the airline’s third destination in the country following Johannesburg and Cape Town. Ethiopian has maintained a presence in the South African market for more than three decades, having begun operations to Johannesburg in 1993, followed by Cape Town in 2015.

FLIGHT SCHEDULE

Flight ET 889 will depart Addis Ababa at 08:35 and arrive in Durban at 13:25; the return flight, ET 888, will depart Durban at 14:15 and arrive in Addis Ababa at 21:00.

Ethiopian operates to more than 160 domestic and international destinations across five continents and is a Star Alliance member. The airline is also pursuing a multi-hub strategy through partner carriers in Lomé, Togo (ASKY), Lilongwe, Malawi (Malawi Airlines), Lusaka, Zambia (Zambia Airways) and Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo (Air Congo).
