EVE AIR MOBILITY UNVEILS ADDITIONAL EVTOL SUPPLIERS

Eve Air Mobility has revealed four new suppliers for its electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Thales will provide a reliable air data solution, including sensors and a computer, while Honeywell will supply guidance, navigation, and external lighting. RECARO Aircraft Seating will design and produce the seats, and FACC will lead the development of the horizontal and vertical tail components.

Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve Air Mobility, expressed satisfaction with the progress, emphasising the establishment of long-term relationships with each supplier. The agreements cover the entire aircraft life cycle, from prototype to production, and include aftermarket service and operational support. The entry into service for the eVTOL aircraft is targeted for 2026.

Honeywell’s contribution includes guidance and navigation products such as magnetometers and GPS-aided systems to ensure safe and efficient flight. Thales will supply a proven air data solution for critical data relay to pilots and onboard systems. RECARO Aircraft Seating will provide innovative passenger and pilot seats, and FACC will lead in the development of lightweight components for the horizontal and vertical tail.

These new suppliers join the previously announced ones, including Garmin, Liebherr Aerospace, Intergalactic, Nidec Aerospace LLC, BAE Systems, and DUC Hélices Propellers.

Eve’s eVTOL aircraft features a lift+cruise configuration with eight dedicated propellers for vertical flight and fixed wings for cruise. The electric pusher, powered by dual electric motors, offers propulsion redundancy, ensuring high performance and safety. Eve’s first eVTOL production facility is located in Taubaté, São Paulo, Brazil, with the assembly of the prototype underway for a test campaign in 2024. Deliveries and service entry are scheduled for 2026. Concurrently, Eve is developing a comprehensive portfolio of agnostic service and operations solutions, including Urban Air Traffic Management software for global Urban Air Mobility operations optimisation and scaling.
