The Level D device at FSI’s Long Beach Learning Center is the first G600/G700 convertible simulator approved for training in the United States.
FlightSafety International (FSI) has received FAA approval for its new Gulfstream G600/G700 Level D Full-Flight Simulator at its Learning Center in Long Beach, California, the first G600/G700 convertible simulator approved for training in the United States. Engineered and manufactured by FSI in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, the device supports training for Gulfstream GVII and GVIII type-rated pilots and is part of a configurable simulator platform designed to expand training capability over time. “This new convertible simulator reflects our commitment to providing innovative training solutions to further support Gulfstream operators,” said Ben Carter, Executive Vice President, Learning Center Operations, FlightSafety International. “By enabling multiple aircraft configurations within a single device, we are helping customers optimize training access while maintaining the highest standards of fidelity and safety.”
The device is equipped with FSI’s VITAL 1150 image generator and a 42-inch electric motion base, and supports advanced training requirements including G600 steep approach operations. FSI’s other G600/G700 device, located in Singapore, received FAA G600 certification in August 2026. The approval comes as FlightSafety marks its 75th anniversary in 2026, delivering training to pilots and technicians from more than 170 countries.
