Lisbon, Portugal – 1 July 2025 – The global aviation community is set to converge on Lisbon for the highly anticipated World Aviation Festival (WAF) 2025, with the event’s organisers announcing a headline speaker line-up that reads like a who’s who of the airline industry. Taking place from 7–9 October at FIL, the world’s largest aviation tech event promises to deliver critical insights into the future of commercial aviation.

Among the keynote speakers are senior executives from some of the world’s most influential airlines and airports, including Luis Gallego, CEO of IAG; Luís Rodrigues, Chairman and CEO of TAP Air Portugal; Yvonne Makolo, CEO of RwandAir; Carolina Martinoli, President and CEO of Vueling; and Ricky Smith, General Manager of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, among others.

With 600 speakers and over 4,500 aviation professionals expected to attend, WAF 2025 is set to be a cornerstone event for the industry. The three-day programme will feature sixteen focused conference tracks, covering topics such as AI and machine learning, digital transformation, customer experience, airline retail, and sustainability.

“This year’s programme is our most ambitious yet,” said Daniel Boyle, General Manager of Transport at event organiser Terrapinn. “From airline CEOs and airport visionaries to digital innovators and sustainability leaders, it’s a rare opportunity to hear from the people leading the biggest shifts in aviation today – those driving strategy, deploying new tech, and setting the pace for global aviation.”

Also confirmed on the speaker roster are Willie Walsh, Director General of IATA; Theo Panagiotoulias, CEO of Star Alliance; Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports Company; and Vivian Cheung, CEO of Hong Kong International Airport.

With 400+ exhibitors, live product demos, and purpose-built networking zones, the 2025 edition is designed to foster deep engagement between airlines, airports, and the technology providers shaping aviation’s digital future.
