HACTL’S ZEO TAM JOINS AIR CARGO TECH SUMMIT

Air Cargo Next is excited to announce that Zeo Tam, head of performance enhancement at Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Ltd. (Hactl), will be a distinguished panelist at the third annual Air Cargo Tech Summit. The event is scheduled for October 21-22 at the JW Marriott Frankfurt in Germany.

Tam, who will deliver the presentation “Ground Handling and Warehouse Innovation and Automation: An Insider’s Perspective” on the summit’s second day, will delve into several critical topics:

  • Digitalisation efforts to improve on-the-ground efficiencies
  • Automated warehouse features and robotics
  • Automation to help combat the labor crisis

Hactl has made significant technological advancements in recent years. Among these are the installation of an intelligent cargo thermal detection system within its SuperTerminal 1 facility, the deployment of security robots to patrol its premises, the implementation of digital dashboards, and the introduction of automated service kiosks to enhance efficiency and reduce paper usage.

In May, Hactl became one of the first ground handlers to receive recognition under IATA’s Enhanced GSE Recognition Program. This program promotes the use of advanced ground support equipment (GSE) technologies to enhance safety and sustainability.

“Technology is a game-changer,” Tam told Air Cargo Next. “By leveraging technological advancements and innovations, ground handlers are not only enhancing productivity and quality but also reshaping capabilities and setting new standards for operational excellence in cargo handling.”

With nearly a decade of experience at Hactl, Tam has been head of performance enhancement for over a year, spearheading the exploration of technologies to maintain and improve service quality at the cargo terminal. Prior to this role, she spent more than eight years as senior manager of commercial and business development.
