HAVELSAN has completed the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of a Boeing 737 MAX full flight simulator for Turkish Airlines, marking the third such device delivered to the carrier.
SIMULATOR DELIVERY MILESTONE
The latest simulator forms part of an ongoing programme supporting Turkish Airlines’ pilot training infrastructure. Once deployed, it will join six existing Boeing 737 MAX full flight simulators currently in operation.
All devices are certified to EASA Level D, the highest qualification standard for full flight simulators, enabling comprehensive pilot training and type rating without the need for aircraft-based training.
TRAINING INFRASTRUCTURE PARTNERSHIP
The relationship between HAVELSAN and Turkish Airlines extends beyond equipment supply. The two organisations jointly operate a Boeing-focused flight training centre in Ankara, which has been active since 2023.
This collaboration reflects a broader strategy to develop integrated training capability aligned with fleet expansion and operational requirements.
PRODUCTION EXPANSION UNDERWAY
HAVELSAN is expanding its simulator manufacturing capacity, with construction underway on a 17,000 m² Simulator Production and Integration Facility in Ankara.
Scheduled to enter service in 2027, the facility is expected to support the production of more than 30 simulators annually, with the capability to develop up to 16 devices simultaneously.
ALIGNMENT WITH FLEET MODERNISATION
The development of Boeing 737 MAX simulators aligns with wider airline fleet strategies, as operators continue to incorporate new-generation, fuel-efficient aircraft into their fleets.
Simulator availability remains a critical component in supporting pilot training demand associated with fleet growth.
