Tel Aviv, October 21, 2025 – Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has unveiled the LAHAT ALPHA, the latest evolution of its combat-proven Laser-Homing Anti-Tank (LAHAT) missile family. This next-generation system is designed to meet growing global demand for cost-effective, precision-guided missiles capable of striking targets at ranges exceeding 20 kilometres.
Engineered for stand-off engagement, the LAHAT ALPHA enables forces to neutralise high-value targets from beyond line of sight (BLOS). The missile can be launched from vehicles or helicopters and homes in on a laser spot designated by ground or airborne laser designators. Simple to operate, it requires less than a week of operator training.
As demonstrated in recent global conflicts, laser-homing technology offers a reliable alternative to GPS-based systems—maintaining precision even in GPS-denied environments and challenging line-of-sight conditions.
Measuring 2 metres in length and weighing 25 kilograms, the LAHAT ALPHA carries a large modular warhead available in anti-tank and fragmentation configurations. Its versatility allows it to destroy armoured vehicles, penetrate fortified structures, strike coastal targets, and engage fast-moving threats.
Building on more than three decades of LAHAT operational experience, the LAHAT ALPHA integrates IAI’s extensive expertise in laser-guided munitions and battlefield-proven missile systems currently deployed with land, naval, and air forces worldwide, including the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
“LAHAT ALPHA reflects IAI’s dedication to delivering proven capabilities that address modern army needs for volume and precision at extended ranges,” said Boaz Levy, President and CEO of IAI. “We are proud to unveil a missile developed from decades of experience in missiles and laser-homing technology, reinforcing our role in ensuring our customers’ readiness for future challenges.”
Guy Barlev, Executive Vice President and General Manager of IAI’s Systems, Missiles and Space Group, added: “LAHAT ALPHA was developed to meet our customers’ requirements, adding range and lethality to a highly effective, proven missile, while meeting global demand for powerful and competitively priced solutions.”
