JOBY TAKES FLIGHT FROM MARINA TO SALINAS AT THE CALIFORNIA INTERNATIONAL AIRSHOW

Santa Cruz, California – 6 October 2025 – Joby Aviation, Inc. (NYSE:JOBY), a pioneer in electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for commercial passenger service, has once again showcased the future of air mobility—this time in its own backyard. The company’s all-electric aircraft took to the skies at the California International Airshow in Salinas, completing a series of flight demonstrations that highlighted its capabilities, quiet operation, and growing maturity as it nears commercial launch.

Following its landmark demonstration flights with ANA in Osaka, Japan, which continue through mid-October, Joby captivated local audiences in California from Friday to Sunday, performing three live flight displays. Each demonstration featured a round-trip journey between Marina (OAR) and Salinas (SNS), beginning with a vertical take-off, a transition to cruise flight, and a vertical landing—all with a pilot onboard.

Spectators witnessed a full range of performance manoeuvres, from steep climbs to steady hovers, underscoring the aircraft’s reliability and operational readiness ahead of FAA type inspection authorisation flight testing scheduled for early next year.

Beyond its technological prowess, Joby’s aircraft impressed attendees with its remarkable quietness, a defining feature for future urban operations. Visitors had the chance to see the aircraft up close, observe it in flight, and imagine a future where clean, quiet, and efficient air taxis become part of daily transportation.

JoeBen Bevirt, founder and CEO of Joby Aviation, said:

“We’ve had the privilege of flying in places like Japan and Dubai this year, but seeing our aircraft fly at home on the Central Coast and sharing it with our neighbours was truly special. Experiencing the aircraft up close shows just how quiet it is, and that gives a real sense of the future of flight we’re building.”

Joby has now flown over 40,000 miles in demonstrations around the world, including in Japan, Dubai, South Korea, New York City, and Salinas, as part of its mission to build public trust and awareness in urban air mobility. The company’s next stop will be the Dubai Airshow (17–21 November 2025), continuing its global engagement ahead of commercial air taxi service launch.
