Paris, 18 June 2025 — U.S.-based public charter carrier JSX has announced plans to begin operations with ATR aircraft by the end of 2025, marking a significant expansion of its unique hop-on service. The announcement was made at the Paris Air Show and signals ATR’s entry into the United States’ public charter market.
JSX will lease two ATR 42-600s to operate flights from private terminals and underserved airports across the country. Known for its elevated in-flight experience and time-saving terminal procedures, JSX will equip its ATR fleet with the HighLine premium cabin, including 30 business-class-style seats, generous legroom, complimentary cocktails, gourmet snacks, and plans to install high-speed Starlink internet connectivity.
To ensure high reliability and availability of its new fleet, JSX will enter into a Global Maintenance Agreement with ATR, the world’s leading manufacturer of regional aircraft.
“This is a bold and exciting next step for JSX,” said CEO Alex Wilcox. “The ATR -600 series will bring over 1,000 new airports into reach for JSX, expanding access to reliable public charter flights across the great United States. Many of these airports were, until now, reserved only for those who had the means to fly private.”
Wilcox highlighted that the ATR’s quiet cabin, efficient turboprop technology, and enhanced route flexibility align perfectly with JSX’s mission to improve the safety, speed, and convenience of air travel for more Americans.
The agreement includes a Letter of Intent for up to 25 new HighLine-equipped ATR aircraft — either the ATR 42-600 in a 30-seat premium layout or ATR 72-600s reconfigured for all-business class service. These aircraft offer strong airfield performance, lower emissions, and a significantly quieter operation.
ATR CEO Nathalie Tarnaud-Laude welcomed the collaboration:
“We are delighted to welcome JSX as a new ATR operator and to see our aircraft entering a dynamic new market segment in the United States. JSX’s unique model, blending the exclusivity of private aircraft-style travel with the efficiency of regional aviation, is a perfect match for our ATR HighLine cabin collection. This partnership underscores the growing demand for low-emission, high-end air travel, powered by the unmatched performance of turboprop technology.”
This move positions JSX and ATR at the forefront of redefining regional air mobility in the U.S. with a blend of environmental responsibility and elevated passenger experience.
