KAOHSIUNG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT PARTNERS WITH SITA TO ELEVATE PASSENGER EXPERIENCE

GENEVA, October 2025 – Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH), Taiwan’s second-largest international gateway, has signed a seven-year agreement with SITA to deploy next-generation passenger processing systems aimed at improving speed, efficiency and resilience across its operations.

As air travel across Asia continues to expand, airports are under growing pressure to manage passenger flows without compromising comfort or security. Kaohsiung International Airport is addressing this challenge by implementing SITA’s suite of advanced solutions, including Common Use Terminal Equipment (CUTE), Common Use Self-Service (CUSS) kiosks, and the Local Departure Control System (LDCS). Together, these tools will streamline check-in, simplify boarding, and enhance operational stability.

The new systems will allow airlines to share check-in infrastructure, provide faster self-service options for passengers, and ensure flight departures continue even in the event of main airline system outages. The LDCS in particular offers a robust local backup capability, allowing uninterrupted operations and reinforcing the airport’s commitment to reliability.

“Across Asia, passenger numbers are climbing fast, and airports are under pressure to deliver efficient operations without compromising the travel experience,” said Sumesh Patel, President, Asia Pacific at SITA. “Legacy systems simply cannot keep pace with this demand. By adopting next-generation passenger processing, Kaohsiung is setting a benchmark for how airports can combine speed, resilience, and flexibility.”

Guojie Hu, Chief Technology Officer of the Kaohsiung International Airport Airlines Operation Committee (AOC), added: “Our focus is on improving operations across all touchpoints while preparing our airport for future growth. By expanding our shared systems with SITA, we improve efficiency, reduce congestion and enhance resilience across check-in and boarding.”

This agreement strengthens SITA’s position as the trusted technology provider for all of Taiwan’s international airports and marks another milestone in its regional growth. It will also expand the number of global sites using SITA’s Airport Management Solution (AMS) to 165, underlining the company’s pivotal role in advancing digital transformation in airport operations worldwide.
