KENYA AIRWAYS PARTNERS WITH ROAMBUDDY TO LAUNCH KQSAFARI DATA

Nairobi, Kenya – Kenya Airways has unveiled KQSafari Data, a roaming solution designed to provide passengers with affordable, seamless, and reliable mobile connectivity across the globe.

The launch, held on 11 September 2025, was marked by the signing of an agreement between Julius Thairu, Chief Customer and Commercial Officer of Kenya Airways, and RoamBuddy Chief Executive Officer, Mandeep Birdi.

Developed through the airline’s Open Innovation Challenge and brought to market by the Fahari Innovation Hub, KQSafari Data directly addresses one of the most common pain points for international travellers – the high cost and inefficiency of roaming services.

With more than 2,250 roaming plans available in over 180 countries, customers can select flexible Country, Regional, or Global packages at significantly reduced rates compared to traditional roaming.

Speaking at the signing, Thairu said the new product underscored Kenya Airways’ dedication to enhancing the travel experience beyond the flight itself.

“Our guests deserve more than just a flight. They deserve a connected journey that is seamless, affordable, and stress-free. KQSafari Data ensures they can stay in touch with loved ones and businesses across the globe without worrying about high roaming costs,” he said.

Birdi highlighted the value of the partnership in shaping the future of travel connectivity.

“This partnership with Kenya Airways demonstrates the power of collaboration in delivering meaningful solutions for travellers. Together, we are redefining how customers connect when they travel abroad, ensuring convenience, affordability, and peace of mind,” he said.

Beyond a product launch, the initiative showcases Kenya Airways’ commitment to innovation and customer-centricity while positioning the Fahari Innovation Hub as a platform for turning bold ideas into practical solutions for African travellers.
