Wessling, 7 July 2025 — Deutsche Aircraft has announced the appointment of Markus Hahner as Sales Director for Multi-Role Aircraft, bringing extensive expertise in defence, security, and international business development to the expanding sales team.
Hahner joins from Leonardo Germany, where he played a pivotal role in senior business development since 2017. Among his many accomplishments, he was instrumental in securing a €100 million multinational defence contract, demonstrating his proven ability to manage complex procurement environments and build trusted relationships with the German Ministry of Defence and international partners.
His earlier career includes leadership and consultancy roles within the German MoD’s in-house consultancy and at Germany’s first drone company serving the armed forces, where he drove innovation in unmanned aerial systems and process optimisation within the defence sector.
Parallel to his professional journey, Hahner serves as a Lieutenant Colonel (R) in the German Air Force, reflecting a longstanding commitment to national defence, NATO cooperation, and strategic leadership.

He will be based in Berlin, further reinforcing the company’s strategic presence near decision-makers and partners in the German capital.
Hahner holds a Political Science degree from Philipps-Universität Marburg and has undertaken advanced training in public affairs, defence procurement, and organisational management.
His arrival signals a major step forward in Deutsche Aircraft’s efforts to lead in the multi-role mission aircraft market.
